The Barberton Police Department is putting the Ryvid Anthem Patrol to work—becoming the first department in Ohio to deploy a Ryvid-built electric motorcycle designed specifically for law enforcement.
Purchased in 2024, Barberton’s Anthem arrived ready to ride, factory-equipped with integrated emergency lighting and police-specific hardware. Since then, it’s been quietly and confidently woven into daily operations—supporting patrols in downtown Barberton, community events around Lake Anna, and along the Canal Towpath Trail.
For Barberton PD, the Anthem offers something different. It bridges the gap between pedal bikes and traditional patrol vehicles—bringing added reach, flexibility, and presence without sacrificing approachability.
“We saw it as an opportunity to reach an underserved portion of our community, namely the regional hike-and-bike trail that runs through our city,” said Chief Vince Morber. “The Ryvid Anthem hit that sweet spot for our service-deployment needs.”
Its quiet electric drivetrain makes it a natural fit for shared spaces, events, and trail systems—places where visibility and connection matter as much as mobility. That connection has been immediate. The Anthem draws curiosity, conversation, and positive engagement wherever it goes, helping officers stay present and approachable in the communities they serve.
Looking ahead, Barberton plans to continue training and explore expanding its electric two-wheel program—reinforcing the Anthem (Police) as a practical, people-forward tool for modern policing.
